Pastoral Succession Planning
Using the process developed by Russ Crabtree in Elephant in the Boardroom, this is an intentional approach to calling a pastor by creating a 'strategic bridge' from the past to the future, taking into account the history, culture, morale, and governance on the call process and on the integration of the new pastor into the life of the congregation and community. The focus of this approach is on evidence-based discernment, a process of discovery and conversation that translates congregational opinions, core values, and priorities into a focused course of action.
Mission Portfolio Planning
This is an integrative five-phase process that engages congregational leaders in developing a comprehensive portfolio that includes a clear statement of mission, an inspiring vision for ministry, a set of core values, a focused set of initiatives and tactics for implementation and evaluation. The purpose of a portfolio is to guide congregational decision making and to achieve effective and meaningful change.
Evidence-based Discernment
This is a service provided to congregations and leaders who desire assistance in applying the lessons learned from evidence-based assessment tools developed by Holy Cow! Consulting. This service is typically delivered in a one-day workshop with pre- and post-workshop sessions with the consultant and a planning team.
